Jack Gain's first short story, COMMUNISM DOESN’T WORK, was a finalist for the Aura Estrada Fiction Prize and was published by the Boston Review in 2020. It was then nominated for the 2021 PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers.Since then, his fiction has been published by Arts of the Working Class and is forthcoming in American Chordata.His story, AFTER WESTERN DEEP, was shortlisted for the 2021 Desperate Literature Prize and is due to be published in the prize's anthology, Eleven Stories, soon.He lives in London where he works in a library.
